Absolutely amazing! It’s a pretty awesome hole in the wall baseball theme restaurant. Nice pub vibes for night time games but fun environment for a family dinner. Grabbed dinner with a buddy visiting from a few hours away and got to enjoy the food, a game, and good conversation not only with my buddy but the staff. They seem to really take their craft seriously and to heart. So definitely will be back. New go to spot for baseball games or just a relaxing fun lunch or dinner. Thanks yall
We were craving a delicious burger and fries and decided to give Behind the Plate a try (based on the stellar reviews online). LOVED everything about this place the food, the decor, the visibility of the owner, the friendly staff, the easy parking, the craft beer, the music...everything. I got the Rattler and just when I thought it couldn't taste any better, I put some pickles on it and HOME RUN! These pickles are not your typical run of the mill pickles either. They are special (tangy and sweet) and delicious just like everything else I ate. Don't expect traditional fries. They serve something so much better here. They look like home fries and taste like yummy fries and what a nice twist on the traditional burger offering! And the bread instead of a regular ole burger bun? Yes please! Rumor has it that outdoor dining will be available for the summer, which will be the cherry on top!
Great food and service. Definitely get dessert too if you can. We are glad to have stumbled upon this hidden gem.
I've been a couple times now, the food always tastes great and I appreciate the rotating can selection. My favorite is the cauliflower, but don't sleep on the cheese steak rolls. I don't know much about baseball but if somebody chats you up, I've found you can say "It's all about playing the percentages" and people will usually nod.
What I noticed was how quiet the place was. Yes, music was playing and people were talking. But, it wasn't loud and you could relax. I had the Marquee with beef and No No Fries. Both were good . Prices are reasonable for Portsmouth. I think I met the owner because he knew so much about the restaurant. His service was excellent . He told me the seating capacity was for 40 people. The place is sports themed. There are flat screens available to watch sports. I am going to recommend this place for a good sandwich and relaxing time.
This is hands down a MUST visit, especially if you are a baseball fan! The concept is truly one of a kind and the food is incredible! Such a cool vibe! I can’t wait to come back!
The food is delicious but a little bit pricey!! We ordered the Classic burgers and Cici cauliflower it was so delicious! The waitres was so nice and friendly.
Great spot to meet friends, easy parking too. Chill vibe, good and unique food, great beer selection! Try the Marque sandwich for sure! And the Fields of Camden Salad is fantastic!
